This LED Signal Torch is ideal for road or railway signalling. These torches are the standard tool for large railway companies needing communication between train drivers and rail yard operators. The unit is constructed using high strength aluminium alloy with surface anodic oxidation. It runs on 3x AAA single use batteries (batteries not included), and can produce three modes of white light, two modes of red light, and two modes of green light. Each colour of light is easily operated by a separate push button, so as to avoid accidental activation of undesired colour. It also has a crenulated bezel for self defence, and a magnetic base for the option of hands-free use.

As a volunteer railway worker I needed a tricolour torch for nigh time operations. Previously a torch was available that cycled white/green/red at the touch of a button. This was ideal however this torch is no longer available. I sourced a quad colour torch elsewhere however having to turn one colour off before selecting another colour was fiddly, especially in the dark, and not ideal for quick colour changes. The tri-colour torch shown here automatically turns off the previous colour when you select another colour. The three buttons are close together and, with familiarity, easy to select the colour required even in the dark. The white LED also has a reduced power level available to conserve battery power.
